Welcome!
Modesty's Costume Closet is a costume-making resource for those who are limited by space and budget.
I started this blog because...well, the YouTube channel wasn't working out so well. But I wanted to share my thoughts, experiences, tips, and tricks I've picked up over the years. My aim is to help other people get started with making costumes whether it's for a convention, Halloween party, Masquerade ball, Ren Faire, Theater, Film Making, or like you need an excuse to dress like a princess.
The focus is mostly on costume makers who don't have a huge budget or a lot of space to work in. Mostly because that's my situation. I don't have a workshop. I don't have a garage. Heck, I don't have a "craft room". (Yet.) When I watch other cosplayers do their demos in full workshops or even their garage I feel like that's not something I can do.
Another thing that the Closet will feature is costume design processes. There are many places that show you how to make a thing and a few people go through their process. I find the design to be the most fun part and it's the part that will be of most use to those wanting to budget their costumes appropriately.
It's not super organized at the moment and often I will go on tangents. You can search by labels in the upper right menu or check out the navigation for specific costume concepts, getting started series or see what I've been working on.
